Duncan Sutherland


Duncan has an extensive background in the NSW Public Sector with successful experience at the executive level in education, business development, emergency services and justice services. In these roles he has developed specialities in leadership development, business development and project management. He has successfully managed government business enterprises, both within NSW and internationally.

In his most recent Public Sector role, Duncan focused on the identification and development of leadership capabilities within the Department of Justice and Attorney General, and designing and implementing a senior leadership talent management and succession planning program within the Department. He is now in private practice coaching executives and executive teams to develop skills to improve their performance, increase their ability to relate to and interact with their staff and enhance their own personal success.

Duncan has recently participated as a mentor in the NSW Public Sector Aboriginal Mentoring Program implemented by IPAA on behalf of NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet. He is also providing pro bono coaching for The Smith Family and The Tedd Noffs Foundation through the Institute of Executive Coaching.

Duncan is passionate about supporting others to make the most of their lives through development of their engagement, aspiration and ability across both their professional and personal lives.
